As preparations intensify for Prince William and Princess Kate’s transition to a new home in Windsor Great Park, pressure is mounting on Prince Andrew to vacate Royal Lodge.
With the Bonfire Night celebrations approaching, royal insiders reveal that William is eager to have his uncle clear out before their family of five settles into their new abode.
The prince and princess plan to move into an eight-bedroom Georgian mansion during the half-term break, where they are excited to welcome their three young children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
This stunning property is conveniently located just over a mile away from Royal Lodge, Andrew’s residence for more than twenty years.
As the move-in date draws closer, talks regarding Andrew’s departure from the expansive 30-room estate are becoming increasingly serious.
According to sources, William has made it clear that Andrew needs to leave.
“It’s no longer about Andrew’s preferences; it’s time for him to comply,” one insider divulged to the Mail.
Ongoing discussions reflect a growing public outcry over Andrew’s nominal rental fees for the lavish quarters, prompting palace insiders to believe that his continued occupancy is becoming increasingly untenable.
The tension is palpable, especially for Kate, who reportedly feels uneasy about living so nearby to Andrew given the circumstances.
An insider mentioned, “Catherine is quite apprehensive about being so close to Royal Lodge while Prince Andrew is still residing there,” emphasizing William’s determination to have him out before their impending relocation.
The couple’s plans appear to be shifting, as they aim to take advantage of the school holidays to help their children acclimate to their new surroundings.
Their current home, Adelaide Cottage, was not their first choice, insiders assert.
Originally, the couple intended to inhabit Royal Lodge after their move from Kensington Palace in August 2022.
However, the situation took a different turn, forcing them to choose Adelaide Cottage instead—a decision that didn’t sit well with them.
“Moving into Adelaide Cottage was never part of the plan.
They had no choice because Prince Andrew wouldn’t budge,” a source familiar with the situation revealed.
The couple’s current residence lies a little over three miles from Forest Lodge, their new target for a family-friendly environment.
Shifting their focus, William
