In a shocking revelation from recently unsealed court documents, disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein once claimed that beloved actress Jennifer Aniston “should be killed” in an email response to a reporter.
The email exchange occurred in October 2017, amidst the wave of sexual assault allegations against Weinstein that sparked the #MeToo movement.
The journalist from the National Enquirer had reached out to Weinstein for comment on a story they planned to publish, alleging that Aniston had been sexually assaulted by the producer during the filming of the 2005 movie “Derailed.”
The Enquirer’s email claimed that Aniston had confided in a friend about Weinstein pressing up against her back and grabbing her buttocks, and that he had frequently stared at her cleavage and made her uncomfortable throughout the years.
In response to the Enquirer’s email, which was forwarded to him by his spokeswoman, Weinstein simply wrote, “Jen Aniston should be killed.”
The story was ultimately never published by the tabloid.
Aniston’s spokesperson, Stephen Huvane, has vehemently denied the sexual assault claims, stating, “The National Enquirer claims are false.
Jennifer has not been harassed or assaulted by Harvey.”
Huvane further clarified that Weinstein never got close enough to Aniston to touch her and that she had never been alone with him.
The unsealed court documents also revealed that Weinstein had a “red flag list” of around 70 people, including Aniston, Ben Affleck, Rose McGowan, and others, whom he believed were likely to speak to journalists about his history of sexual misconduct.
A private investigator testified that Weinstein had provided him with the list, instructing him that the “red flags” should be the first to call.
These revelations come just days before Weinstein’s sentencing, following his conviction on charges of rape and sexual assault.
The once-powerful producer faces up to 29 years in prison for his crimes.
The disturbing email about Aniston serves as a chilling reminder of the depths of Weinstein’s abuse of power and his attempts to silence and intimidate potential accusers.
It also underscores the bravery of the numerous women who came forward to share their stories and hold Weinstein accountable for his actions.
