Elvis Presley refused to sleep with Priscilla for years when she did this

Elvis Presley, the King of Rock and Roll, had a complicated and often bizarre approach to love and relationships, particularly when it came to his courtship and marriage to Priscilla Presley.

The couple’s relationship began under unconventional circumstances, with Elvis, then 24, pursuing Priscilla when she was just 14 years old.

Despite the significant age gap and Priscilla’s young age, the two began dating while Elvis was stationed in Germany during his military service.

Priscilla’s parents, initially concerned about the relationship, eventually allowed the couple to continue seeing each other after meeting with Elvis in person.

As their relationship progressed, Elvis exhibited a strong fascination with the concept of purity and virginity.

Priscilla has revealed that the King refused to have s__ with her until they were married, even when she pleaded with him to consummate their love.

Elvis’s response was always the same: he wanted to preserve her innocence and wait for the right moment.

“I swear I’ll never do anything to harm you. I’ll treat you just like a sister,” Elvis reportedly told Priscilla during one of their early encounters.

This sentiment was repeated throughout their courtship, with Elvis insisting that he didn’t want to “spoil” her and that he would know when the time was right.

Despite Priscilla’s attempts to persuade Elvis to have s__, he remained steadfast in his decision to wait until marriage.

“Not yet, not now. We have a lot to look forward to. I’m not going to spoil you. I just want to keep you the way you are for now,” he told her during a visit to Los Angeles.

Elvis’s preoccupation with maintaining Priscilla’s virginity extended to their long-distance relationship.

When it was time for her to return to Germany after a visit, he reminded her, “I want you back the way you are now, and remember, I’ll always know.”

The couple’s long-awaited wedding finally took place on May 1, 1967, in a brief ceremony at the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas.

The wedding, arranged by Elvis’s manager Colonel Parker, lasted a mere eight minutes and was followed by a press conference and a $10,000 breakfast reception.

However, some of Elvis’s closest friends have suggested that the King never truly wanted to marry Priscilla.

Elvis’s long-term housekeeper, Alberta Holman, claimed to have found him crying in despair the night before the wedding, lamenting that he didn’t have a choice in the matter.

Rumors circulated about the reasons behind the marriage, with some speculating that Priscilla’s father had threatened to prosecute Elvis for taking a minor across state lines during their early years together.

Others suggested that Priscilla had pressured Elvis into marriage by threatening to go public with details about their relationship.

Throughout his career, Elvis was known for his numerous affairs, particularly with his co-stars.

He was officially dating actress Anita Wood when he met Priscilla and had a highly publicized entanglement with Ann-Margret during the filming of “Viva Las Vegas.”

Despite the constant infidelities, Priscilla remained desperate to take their relationship to the next level.

In an interview with Barbara Walters, she revealed, “Elvis would take me into his bedroom, and then we would kiss long, deep, passionate kisses, and his caresses would leave me weak with desire.”

However, some biographers have cast doubt on Priscilla’s claims of virginity, suggesting that she had bedded other men before marrying Elvis.

Biographer Suzanne Finstad, in her book “Child Bride: The Untold Story of Priscilla Beaulieu Presley,” asserts that Priscilla had intimate relationships with several men, including Tommy Stewart, Peter von Wechmar, Jamie Lindberg, and possibly Ron Tapp.

Regardless of the conflicting accounts, Elvis and Priscilla’s marriage marked a turning point in their relationship.

Priscilla became pregnant immediately after the wedding, which she initially saw as a potential threat to their newly found intimacy and stability.

She worried that motherhood might change the way Elvis perceived her.

The birth of their daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, on February 1, 1968, marked the beginning of the end for the couple’s relationship.

Elvis struggled to reconcile Priscilla’s role as a mother with the image of the young girl he had fallen in love with.

“Elvis had a hard time dealing with me being a mother and the little girl that I was to him,” Priscilla later reflected.

As the couple spent increasing amounts of time apart, their marriage began to deteriorate.

They eventually separated in February 1972, with their divorce finalized the following year.
