Charlize Theron left audiences in stitches when she playfully mentioned her Prometheus co-star Michael Fassbender’s full frontal nud scenes in the film Shame, during a charity event in Los Angeles over the weekend.
The South African actress had the audience roaring with laughter as she accepted the Ally for Equality Award from Fassbender for her work with the LGBT community at the Human Rights Campaign bash.
Theron couldn’t resist poking fun at the 34-year-old actor’s much-talked-about manhood, saying, “Your penis was a revelation. I’m available to work with it anytime.”
She continued, “I have to say that I was truly impressed that you chose to play it big.
Most other actors would have gone small, trust me. I know because I have worked with them.”
The audience erupted in laughter at Theron’s cheeky remarks.
This isn’t the first time Fassbender’s notorious nether regions have been acknowledged on stage.
Even George Clooney thanked him for “taking over the frontal nude responsibility that I had” during his Golden Globes acceptance speech, adding, “Really, Michael, honestly, you can play golf like this with your hands behind your back.”
During her acceptance speech, Theron emphasized the significance of her advocacy work, stating, “Marriage equality is about more than just marriage.
“It’s about something greater. It’s about acceptance… I will always be your cheerleader and I will always be your friend.”
Theron and Fassbender have developed a close friendship off-screen, and their chemistry is evident in their steamy photoshoot for W magazine.
The pair posed in provocative shots, wearing leather outfits and chains while holding each other tightly.
Previous stars to grace the magazine’s pages include Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, whose controversial shoot shortly after filming “Mr & Mrs Smith” signaled the end of Pitt’s marriage to Jennifer Aniston.
In the accompanying interview, Theron revealed that she has no qualms about stripping off on screen, saying,
“It depends on who you’re doing the sx scene with. I don’t have issues being n-k-d. That sounds very slutty…
“What I mean is, I’m not hung up on my body, and I’ve been lucky to work with people I’ve been really comfortable with.”
However, she couldn’t resist teasing Fassbender about their experiences on set, recalling, “I’ve had maybe two occasions where…” to which Fassbender interjected, “It’s been uncomfortable.”
Theron laughed and finished her sentence, “And Michael’s one of the two who did not make me feel very comfortable.”
Despite the playful jabs, Theron expressed her admiration for Fassbender’s acting skills, sharing how she was amazed when she first saw him playing IRA hunger striker Bobby Sands in “Hunger.”
A friend had told her, “You have to see this movie. It’s the best thing I’ve seen in my entire life.”
Theron initially thought, “Just chill out, okay?” but after watching the film, she was “absolutely blown away by it” and realized that “all bets are off from now on. This is the guy.”
Fassbender, on the other hand, admits that he is much less at ease with sx scenes, saying, “Sex scenes sound like more fun than they are. Death scenes are easier, really. Maybe because I’ve died so many times!”
The playful banter between Theron and Fassbender at the charity event showcases their strong friendship and mutual respect for each other’s work.
Their on-screen chemistry and off-screen camaraderie have made them one of Hollywood’s most dynamic duos, both in front of and behind the camera.
