Princess Margaret Hospitalized Following Stroke on Island

Princess Margaret, the younger sister of II, had to recuperate in a hospital in the Caribbean following a mild stroke.

The royal experienced this health scare while enjoying a three-week holiday on the scenic island of Mustique.

After feeling unwell, received initial treatment at a local medical facility on the island. It wasn’t long before she was airlifted to Barbados for further care.

Reports suggest that the princess was stable enough to walk onto the air ambulance, alleviating concerns about her condition. Witnesses noted that she was in good spirits and able to manage the transition without assistance from a stretcher.

Ken Will, who represents the Mustique Company, which oversees operations on the island, provided updates on the situation.

According to him, she was seen walking from her vehicle across the tarmac to board the plane, indicating that her mobility was relatively unaffected despite the incident.

The princess, who was fourth in line to the throne, had a history of health issues. Notably, she struggled with smoking addiction, once consuming as many as 60 cigarettes daily.

Smoking is well-known as a significant risk factor for strokes and other health complications.

Following that operation, her journey to quitting smoking was gradual; she continued to smoke, albeit less, at about 30 cigarettes a day before finally quitting.

Her health troubles persisted over the years, including a nervous breakdown in the 1970s.

She encountered issues that required her to cancel public appearances due to ailments such as severe colds and a bout of pneumonia that landed her in the hospital in early 1993.

This incident unfolded while she was enjoying time with friends in their holiday home, making it clear that even a royal’s vacation can take an unexpected turn.

Swift action by medical personnel led to the timely transfer and care she required.

As news of her health spread, her sister, the Queen, continued with her schedule without comment on the matter.

Meanwhile, Lord Snowdon, ‘s ex-husband, expressed deep concern and reached out to their children, Viscount Linley and Lady Sarah Chatto, to keep them informed.
